There really is no best time to visit, as there is always something fabulous to enjoy whatever the weather or season.

When Spring is in the air, the Daffodils arrive. We have the new growth along with the temperatures getting milder and flowers blooming. Lambs are prancing and the expectancy of the coming year paves the way.

Summer in the Lake District is something that dreams are made of, with long lazy days in glorious sunshine (and of course a little rain to keep the lakes topped up!), stunning wildlife, picture postcard views and many beautiful villages to explore.  Needless to say this world heritage site has long been the place to ramble onto the fells or to take up an activity on one of the many lakes.  Fauna, is at its full glory and comes alive! Pack a picnic and head out to one of the many fabulous viewpoints. You’ll be spoilt for choice!

Autumn is an array of colour. There can be moody mists, or there may be frost on the ground with the leaves crunching beneath your feet. It is a beautiful time to visit and can be a little quieter. There are also many super events and festivities in the towns and villages at this time of year.

Winter is magical. Snow on the tops is a sight to behold and if there is a sprinkling on lower ground, it can bring out the child in us all. Wrap up warm and take a scenic stroll, followed by a hot coffee or an ale in a traditional pub, or simply head back and snuggle up in one of our cosy properties.
